Imperial treasure maps are the new weekly bounties in Season of Opulence, but you’ll need to hunt for some golden chests to get your rewards.

You can pick up Imperial treasure map bounties from Werner 99-44 on Nessus or from Benedict 99-44 in the Tower. Each of these bounties requires you to find a treasure chest hidden in another destination.

If you track the quest, you’ll see an X marking the spot where you need to go for each location. It doesn’t show you exactly where you’ll find a chest in that area, so we’ve made this guide to help you find them quickly.

Destiny 2: where to find the Imperial treasure

We currently have the location of six treasure chests, so let’s get started. These chests are quite large and very bright so shouldn’t be too difficult to miss. Each one is linked to a different bounty and Triumph, so be sure to check the Triumph tab when you’re finished.

Imperial Treasure Map: Well of Flame – Nessus

Having completed the Imperial Summons questline, you’ll know there’s one at the Well of Flame on Nessus. Jump down the giant hole and at the bottom, behind some rocks, you’ll find the golden chest.

Gaze into Death’s Eyes: Alton Dynamo – Mars

You’re looking for the server room in the Alton Dynamo area of Mars. Head through the door that you’d normally open in the Will of the Thousands Strike and go to the right at the junction. Kill the Knight and go to the left to find a chest hidden hind a staircase.

Golden Experience: Maevic Square – EDZ

It’s back to the EDZ for this chest and you’re landing in the Trostland. Go to the right of the church and go past the ruined building until you’re overlooking Maevic Square. There should be a chest on the right on a ledge covered in plants.

Trial by Valor: Legion’s Anchor EDZ

For the second EDZ chest, spawn at the Sunken Isles then turn and go Southwest into the Legion’s Anchor base. Keep following the corridors until you reach the landing pad, then use the walkway to reach the LZ filled with tanks. You can find a chest under a tank to your left.

Salvaged Goods: Spine Burrows – Io

You’re heading to Io for this next chest in the Lost Oasis area. Head to the Spine Burrows cave, which you can enter near the giant tree stump. When you go into the main chamber, jump up to the platform on your right. Go through to the other side and look down to your left and you’ll see a chest.

The Emperor’s Embrace: Diaviks Mine – Tangled Shore

For this treasure chest, land at Sorik’s Cut and turn to your right, heading into the cave past the Cabal enemies. You’ll get a notification to say you’re now in Diaviks Mine, so follow the passage through until you reach the main chamber where a ship is hovering to find the chest.
